- “Jadłostacja”, the cult sandwich-eatery in Wrocław’s Więzienna Street, has expanded and now is a proper, two-storey restaurant still serving great food in an original if somewhat weird interior. Hot sandwiches reamain strong items on the menu, but try the new arrivals, vegetarian meals being among the best in town.

- WRO Art Centre in Widok Street has prepared a special, multimedia presentation of the material included in the WRO Media Reader, this time devoted to the history of experimenting with moving images. Co-author and WRO director Piotr Krajewski presents the material tonight, Tuesday 28 July, at 7 pm.

- Krzysztof Kieślowski’s Museum will open in Lower Silesia rather than Paris – Sokołowsk near Wałbrzych will boast the place instead. The town once had a cinema where the late director of “Three Colours” used to watch his first films when he lived in Sokołowsk back in the 1960’s. Now the cinema is to be revived and turned into the museum, film studios and laboratories.

- The much-awaited “Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince” is premiering in Wrocław this weekend. The special pre-opening show in the two Multikino cinemas is planned for one minute past midnight on Friday. Remember to choose your preferred version of the movie – dubbed or subtitled – before you buy the ticket.

- Concerts in Wrocław this Wednesday and Thursday include Andy W. Blues and Sławek Dudar Project in “Rura”, “Requiem” and “Absynth” in “Alive”. Clubs that offer more than just the resident DJ are: “PRL” tonight with their celebration of the National Polish Rebirth Day, Liverpool with their weekly “WednesGAME” evening, the salsoteque in “Jazzda”, and Partysoldiers Night in “Lemoniada” – free entrance to all clubs.
