- Spend this weekend walking and learning at the same time, discovering  more about Wrocław with tour guides from the Active Tourism Group called WROTA. They welcome you to take part in a city game connected with the novels of Marek Krajewski. The game starts on 9th of August at 5pm at the Fredro Monument. If you wish to take part, just google the name “Wrotacje” and be ready to pay 15 zł for the pleasure.

- This weekend, if you have some time to think in your free time, you may come up with a name for the  new giraffe which has arrived at Wroclaw Zoo from Copenhagen. The giraffe is male and, as the tradition demands, it cannot have a human name – so no Dareks, Alexanders or Tadeuszes accepted. But there are many more options to choose from. If you wish to give it a try, the competition is on till 16 August, and the prize is a whole year of free entrance to the Zoo. Visit the Zoo’s homepage!

- Today is the second day of the OFF Festival – one of the most important alternative music festivals, organized by Artur Rojek. It is going to be held for the 4th time in Mysłowice, and today and tomorrow  you will be given a chance to listen to 20 out of over 60 artists on 5 stages. Mysłowice is located in the South of Poland, 30 km from Katowice. And today on our radio we had a special guest – Janek Samołyk, a songwriter and guitarist from Wrocław, who has been qualified for the OFF Festival and who is going to have his gig tomorrow at 5 p.m in Mysłowice.

- Also today is the opening day of the oldest International Festival of Fryderyk Chopin music, which will be held for the 64th time  in Duszniki Zdrój. It is going to be exeptional for a few reasons – first and foremost, this year marks the 160th anniversary of the great composer’s death, and for the first time in Duszniki we will be able to listen to Mozart’s “Requiem”. Chopin liked this piece so much that he wished it to be played during his funeral ceremony. Unfortunately, the ticket to listen to Oleg Maisenberg, Cyprien Katsaris, Jue Wang, Nikolai Lugansky, Orkiestra Wratislavia, Polish Chamber Choir and  Prima Vista Quartet, amounts to the exorbitant price of 625 zlotys. However, this price does not scare away true classical music lovers, so if you are one of them – hurry up to grab a ticket! The concerts will be on till 15 August.

- For salsa lessons, book yourself some time this Saturday at half past 8 p.m. as Adrien Ciechanowski, founder of the Salsa Mania Dance School, is going to be your private teacher expecting nothing but a smile in return, as the admission is totally free of charge – but only during holidays, so don’t waste your chance.

- Do you use your left hand more often than the right one? If your answer to this question is yes, be aware that the international day of the left-handed is coming soon, on the 13th of August. But sooner than that – on the 8th of August, you will be able to prove how skilful you are in using your left hand during the special event organized at Arkady Wrocławskie between 12 and 5 pm. The entrance is free – all you need to do is take your left hand with you.

- Take part in the fourth International Integration Kayak Trip – you will need to take your kayak to Rędzińska street at Maślice on Monday at the mouth of the River Ślęza. If you have your own kayak, you will need to pay 130 zlotys of the admission fee and if you don’t own one – 200 zlotys. So you’d better start your paddling practise now as the distance to cover is 131 km, fortunately with breaks in 6 stages.
